My hand-forged wrought iron hooks and hangers are all made me in my blacksmithing shop, and they're buil to last a lifetime.
I design my products for intuitive installation and reliable performance. From wall racks with drill holes spaced out at 16-inch on center for secure attachment to framing studs to countersink holes for a smooth finish when installed, no attention to detail goes overlooked.
While a lot of left-brained engineering goes into my work, I also take pride in the right-brained creativity that gives my products a unique aesthetic. While organic touches like flowers and leaves are a popular request, I take my artistic abilities to all sorts of custom projects.
About the Blacksmith
Hi, I am Pete VanDyken, the owner and blacksmith behind Van’s Iron Works. Thank you for visiting my website! Van’s Iron Works started in Kalamazoo, Michigan by my great-grandfather who immigrated from the Netherlands in 1911. I inherited some of his tools while I was in my teens and developed a passion for the art of blacksmithing, a passion I’m still cultivating today.
With the heat of the forge, iron can be shaped between the hammer and anvil in ways that cannot be achieved any other way. While closely matching pieces can be made by hand forging, no two will be exactly the same, creating unique one-of-a-kind projects. The possibilities are almost endless!
